What is the IntelliDrive? Think of it as a small computer that simultaneously drives LED lights and controls them. That is an oversimplification, but it is a good starting point. You power fixtures, sensors, and switches from one networked hub, with customization that puts proprietary “smart fixture” systems on notice.
Why be proprietary?
Intelligence in the hub, not trapped in every fixture
Other “smart” lighting systems build intelligence into each fixture. Good idea, until you have to replace one. Smart fixtures are expensive. Want the full 60 watts a UPoE port offers? Too bad if you already burned that port on a single 20-watt fixture.
By moving intelligence out of the fixture and into the IntelliDrive, we create a ceiling hub that squeezes every drop of juice from each PoE port and stays ready for rapid expansion later.
